Peter White

Chief Executive Officer

Peter was appointed in 2012 and has led a turnaround in the Company’s performance, by focusing on integrating the national service offering. In previous roles, he specialised in growing and developing solutions and services companies in the technology sector. He has experience in working in large multinational as well as privately owned companies. He has performed senior executive roles such as Country Manager, Director of Services and Operations, and Sales Director at companies such as Tandem, Siemens, Motorola, and Hewlett Packard. He has worked across a broad range of industries in Australia, Asia, and Europe.

Peter's focus is to grow Pacific Environment through strengthening the consulting business, expanding its technology offerings, and acquiring companies aligned to the Company's strategy.

Robin Ormerod

Founder/General Manager Consulting (Queensland, South Australia) 

Robin Ormerod, a founder of Pacific Environment, retired from the Board in February 2014.  He is currently managing our consulting business in Queensland and South Australia, and is working with our newly appointed national BD Manager Bill Haylock to grow the business. Robin's 32 years as an environmental consultant underpins the company's active phase of business building and practice development.

Robin is best known for his contributions in applying the science of meteorology, air quality, climate and acoustics in his work as a consultant in Australia.  He has authored many peer-reviewed papers, contributed to technical journals and text books and conducted workshops on air quality in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the US.
He has extensive expert witness experience in Australia and New Zealand, and is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (American Meteorological Society), the only CCM in the environmental consulting field in Australia. He is a Life Member of the Clean Air Society of Australia & New Zealand and is currently the Chair of its Modelling Special Interest Group (ModSIG). He also chaired the Odour SIG from 2001 to 2004. These are forums for technical knowledge transfer.

Robin co-founded Pacific Environment in 2006 after establishing Pacific Air & Environment in Brisbane with Kristin Zeise in 1995.

Bill Haylock

General Manager Business Development

Bill was appointed in February 2014 to help build our business in the Consulting area. He is a well-recognised and highly regarded figure in the environment services sector. Bill is the former President of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ), the peak professional body for environmental practitioners. He is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company directors.

In addition to his strong professional credentials, Bill has an excellent commercial track record having founded his own business. 'Environmental and Licensing Professionals' that he sold to the ASX listed Greencap in 2008, and which was acquired by Wesfarmers Group in late 2013. More recently he has undertaken several significant contracts with BHP-Billiton and Leighton Contractors.

In this role Bill will focus on improving our business development capabilities, broaden our consulting offering to our clients and identify acquisition opportunities.

Ross Hawkey

Chief Financial Officer

 Ross Hawkey, appointed CFO in October 2013 provides financial and operational support to the organisation. Ross is a commercially astute management professional with extensive business experience in the Information Technology & Telecommunications (IT&T), Manufacturing, Security, Financial Services and Not-for-Profit industries both in Australia and internationally. He advises the CEO on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to accounting and finance as well as responsibility for the organisation's human resources, IT infrastructure, insurances and facilities.

David Arbuckle

Founder/General Manager Monitoring


David founded the Monitoring business unit (formerly newEQ) and continues to manage and grow the group, providing a strong focus on technical quality and business integrity. He has over 15 years experience in the measurement of emissions and air quality. He has extensive hands on experience with the testing and analysis of emissions and has worked on a wide range of industrial, mining and public utility facilities throughout Australia and offshore. He has received specialist training in testing methods in the US and Europe, and regularly updates his skills via continuing training workshops in the US.

Matt Scholl

General Manager Technology Solutions


Matt combines international air quality consulting experience with involvement in environmental management technologies to spearhead the sales and delivery of Pacific Environment's ground-breaking EnviroSuite technology offering.

Matt has 15 years experience on projects covering key aspects of air quality and greenhouse gas management, including monitoring, modelling, environmental impact, dust and odour assessments. He has advised environmental regulators on the development of emissions inventories and reporting programs. Matt is adept at managing multiple stakeholder relationships and applies his technical skills to understand our clients' business requirements and clearly communicate complex technical solutions to meet their needs.

Chaim Kolominskas

Business Development Manager - Technologies


We are proud to announce that Chaim Kolominskas has accepted the position as Business Development Manager of our Technologies Division. In this role, he is responsible for developing Pacific Environment's technologies business across Australia.

Chaim's 15 plus years as an environmental consultant in air quality, eco-efficiency (i.e. water, energy and resource efficiency), and environmental management and reporting systems underpin his understanding of the challenges involved in managing complex environmental issues facing industry today.  He is also able to draw upon the significant amount of experience gained in developing and auditing environmental management systems, which led to his accreditation as an RABQSA accredited Principal Environmental Auditor.

Damon Roddis

General Manager Consulting (New South Wales)

Damon manages the performance of the New South Wales office. He comes from a background of diverse air quality and carbon consulting and regulatory experience in Australia and the UK. Damon is the national Practice Leader for Ambient & Fugitive Monitoring. He is an experienced air quality expert witness and also an accredited auditor with the Federal Clean Energy Regulator and the New South Wales Greenhouse Gas Abatement Schemes.

Hugh Scobie

Principal Toxicologist/Manager of Toxikos


Hugh joined the Company from Canada in 2012 and has led a turnaround in the Toxikos business unit. He is one of only a hand full of board-certified toxicologists in ANZ with 15 years’ experience in applied toxicology and human health risk assessment. He has proven expertise in conducting risk assessments related to air quality (e.g., PM, Diesel, SOx, NOx, metals), as well as for contaminated land including those involving lead, mercury and chlorinated volatile organic compounds (e.g., vapour intrusion). He has provided expert reports in support of litigation in relation to health effects due to exposures to various chemicals (including metals) and has been an expert witness to support many of the produced reports. In addition to the above, he has provided support to large pharmaceutical companies with respect to preclinical toxicology and the evaluation of impurities due to stability and process issues during product development.

Jon Harper

Principal Consultant/Manager - Western Australia

Jon manages our WA office and has more than 20 years experience in the resources sector, managing large projects and providing expert advice to mine managers, engineers and environmental staff. He is a leading expert in the field and has developed an excellent reputation in designing and managing environmental and scientific studies. As a recognised leader in the air quality field in Australia, Jon is building and leading a team of experts in our Perth office. He is successfully utilising the strengths of the senior specialists throughout the company to provide his clients with the best possible outcome for their projects. In line with his capability as a trusted air quality consultant to the resource industry, Jon has developed strong working relationships with the environmental regulators, thus enabling him to work through complex issues.

Johan Meline

Principal Consultant/Manager - South Australia


Johan manages our SA office and has 10 years experience in environmental consulting and air quality impact assessments. He has a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Lund University in Sweden. He completed part of his degree at the University of Adelaide and researched and wrote his Master's thesis while conducting an internship with the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Italy.

Johan has consulting experience across a broad range of industries. He is experienced in dispersion modelling, emissions estimation, environmental sampling and monitoring, design and implementation of monitoring programs, preparation of management plans and risk assessments.
