R & D

Pacific Environment recognises the importance of Research & Development to ensure ongoing investment in our clients’ future needs and to maintain our leading competitive position. Beginning with our founding companies, we have hosted R&D activities that support better technology and consulting solutions for our clients’ varied needs.

Our R&D activities are led by Dr Peter D’Abreton, working in liaison with Executive Director Robin Ormerod. Peter’s experience and skills are broad, and his core expertise in air pollution meteorology is of key relevance to the types of solutions we provide. Our main technology solution, involving real time and predictive applications of meteorology and air quality modelling, was Peter’s brainchild and has received praise from international experts in the field.

Over the past few years, many of our R&D projects have been converted to revenue earning modules that form part of the EnviroSuite offering. Ongoing R&D efforts are carefully targeted to maximise the prospects of commercial outcomes in the short to medium term.

We also have recently received funding from the Australian Coal Association Research Program to research haul road dust in open cut coal mines. Click here for more details
