Damon Roddis is Pacific Environment’s National Practice Manager – Air with extensive experience in the field of environmental science, specialising in all aspects of air quality and carbon management. He has completed numerous air quality and odour assessments for mining, power generation, transport, waste water treatment and heavy industry. Damon provides technical guidance on atmospheric dispersion modelling and designs air quality monitoring networks for a variety of applications.
He enjoys delivering solutions to trickier air quality problems, such as assisting industrial clients in understanding unscheduled emissions, or optimising stack parameters to meet conflicting regulatory drivers.
Damon has completed many greenhouse gas assessment projects involving the quantification of emissions using internationally recognised protocols. He has conducted many auditing assignments as part of the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme and Energy Saving Scheme frameworks. He is a Category 1 Technical auditor under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme and audits under the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).
He provides Expert Witness services to the NSW Land & Environment Court on air quality and greenhouse gas matters.
Damon has completed a secondment to the NSW Environment Protection Authority Air Policy Unit where he acted as Principal Technical Policy Advisor. During this time he assisted in the development of air pollution policy and provided a technical review role for a variety of complex specialist reports.
He enjoys travel and his professional work has taken him to Australia’s major industrial and mining centres, as well as Thailand, China and the Philippines.
