Brian Fainton has over 13 years’ experience in consulting and industry sectors in Australia and the UK, principally within the field of contaminated land project management and environmental management.
Brian has broad experience with the investigation and remediation of industrial and non-industrial sites including mines, service stations, bulk fuel facilities, airports, schools, heritage sites and research facilities, and is a ‘Suitably Qualified Person’ within this field in Queensland.
Having spent 5 years in the oil and gas industry in Queensland, Brian has a strong knowledge of complex and dual-phase groundwater systems, baseline studies and monitoring, and an appreciation for the client’s perspective.
His extensive field experience includes field trials of groundwater monitoring systems, remediation projects including landfarming and capping, contractor management and operating environmental and geotechnical drilling rigs.
Brian’s affinity for stakeholder collaboration has seen him work extensively on legal matters including criminal and civil proceedings (including court appearance as an advisor), policy review and advice and Environmental Protection Orders, reviews and appeals. Although a technical consultant, Brian considers his best asset to be bringing parties together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
