Jamin Wood is a consultant at Pacific Environment with 3 years’ experience in civil engineering, holding a BEng Adv Studies (First Class Hons, Engineering Medal, University Medal). He has a variety of experience throughout Australia including water management, flood assessments, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, coastal processes and modelling, erosion and sediment control, and hydraulic design. Jamin has applied his skills in design, environmental approvals, as well as land remediation studies, spending time working in both client-side project management, and consultant-side technical studies.
Since joining Pacific Environment, Jamin has been involved in development of new EnviroSuite modules, including surface water monitoring and forecasting, from initial idea generation phase, to implementation and incorporation into Pacific Environment's vertical stack solution. He brings his expertise in surface water and hydrology to develop robust, client-focussed technology and consulting services. He has a passion to be at the forefront of new sensor technologies, with a particular focus on Big Data, and the opportunities this will bring to maximise client operational efficiency whilst meeting environmental compliance and corporate and community obligations.
During his spare time, Jamin is actively involved in the technology space, particularly Big Data and the Internet of Things. His latest pursuit has been co-founding a mobile travel application, taking it from the idea phase, through product development and investment, to implementation, gaining recognition in international press.
