As a manager at DLA Environmental Services Stephen Challinor facilitates the coordination of staff and business development, whilst maintaining relationships with clients and contractors. This enhances the multidisciplinary nature of the company and spans several tiers of government and the private sector in industrial, commercial and residential settings.
Stephen graduated from University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) in 2001.
Stephen has over 14 years enperience in the environmental sector spanning the construction industry, contaminated land management and monitoring sectors. He has taken on the role of Manager of the Hunter Region Office for DLA Environmental and has expanded the client base and job base significantly.
Stephen oversees investigation projects, Stage 1 projects, Stage 2 projects, remediation action plans and remediation/validation projects. Stephen has broadened his skillset in environmental management throughout his career.
Stephen’s early career in the environmental sector included managing a large number of subdivision and construction projects from design through to Council/Lands Title Office sign-off. This included developing and writing Statements of Environmental Effects, Bushfire Reports, Scenic Quality Assessments/ Visual Assessments, SEPP 19 and SEPP 44 assessments, Seagrass Assessments, Flora and Fauna Assessments and design of foreshore stablisation treatments. In additional to report writing Stephen has significant experience with Auto-CAD and drafting software.
It is through his work for all clients he is able to project his strong ethos for client satisfaction.
Personally, Stephen enjoys spending time with his young family and has a passion for cooking, soccer, golf and rugby union.
