Every level of government is faced with a myriad of issues from the impacts of climate change and population dynamics to technological advances.

The ever increase pressure on infrastructure, crisis management and emergency response as well as the strain created by urbanisation are some of the challenges.

We provide informed support to all levels of government ranging from quality input to policy development and independent expert review. Our work for government is backed by consultants who have senior government experience. We turn complex technical concepts and data into information and advice of practical use in legislative programs and enforcement.

Our team includes highly recognised professionals with government experience in environmental and health risk regulation. We have contributed to policy and programs dealing with airborne particles, air toxics and toxicology, odour, load-based licensing, emissions reporting, greenhouse gases, air quality monitoring and health risk assessment.

We have provided key input to important environmental programs. We worked closely with the Commonwealth Government on the technical framework for Australia’s National Pollutant Inventory and provided similar guidance to the OECD. We have provided technical support to Australia’s participation in international treaties, such as the Stockholm Convention, and its contribution to the IPCC framework for greenhouse gas inventory development. We have completed assessments informing the development and updates of National Environment Protection Measures.

We are a leader in developing complex emission inventories and applying regional air quality models for airshed management programs. Our work in NSW, for example, has included developing emission targets for the load-based licensing program, developing components of the Sydney Metropolitan region emissions inventory, and conducting regional air pollution modelling studies in the Hunter region.
